Rural Medical Infrastructure Fund
The Administration of the Rural Medical Infrastructure Fund (RMIF) now resides within the Australian Department of Health and Ageing portfolio.
As the Regional Partnerships program is now closed, the Australian Government has decided that the administration of the Fund will be within the Australian Department of Health and Ageing portfolio. This will ensure that the Fund is more closely aligned with rural workforce measures and other broader health and medical programs and policy such as the Government's commitment to establish GP Super Clinics.
- RMIF projects that are approved for funding but do not have an executed funding agreement with the Government have been forwarded to the Australian Department of Health and Ageing for consideration.
- Commitments for those RMIF projects that have an executed funding agreement in place with the Government will continue to be managed by the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government.
The RMIF has now been amalgamated into the National Rural and Remote Health Infrastructure Program. Information about the program is available at the Department of Health and Ageing's website.
